The Serbian military completed two international exercises with their counterparts from Hungary and the Ohio National Guard, the Defense Ministry said on Friday.

Serbian troops joined Hungarian and Ohio National Guard personnel for the Neighbors 21 exercise and the Iron Cat 2021 exercise with the Hungarian military, it said. The trilateral exercises were hosted by the Army of Serbia (VS) 1st Land Forces Brigade to improve interoperability in multi-national operations at tactical level, strengthen trust and exchange experiences.

The press release said that the five-day exercises included combat operations, peace operations and reaction to attacks on forces engaged in operations. The Neighbors exercises have been ongoing since 2011 alternating between Serbia and Hungary with the Ohio National Guard taking part since 2017. The Iron Cat exercise featured the VS River Flotilla and Hungarian sapper regiment. It included live fire training, medevac and shipboard firefighting.
