Presidential Council suspends FM Najla Mangoush for "administrative violations," prevents her from traveling outside country pending investigation

Libya's Presidential Council has decided to suspend Minister of Foreign Affairs Najla Mangoush from work pending an investigation into “administrative violations” attributed to her, “represented in her acting unilaterally in the foreign policy file without coordination with the Presidential Council according to the outcomes of the Political Dialogue Forum.”

Decision No. 44 of 2021 issued on Saturday, prevents Mangoush from traveling outside the country until the completion of investigations and a decision on the results by the Presidential Council.

The decision also stipulated the formation of an investigation committee to question Mangoush on her conduct, which will be headed by the Vice-Chairman of the Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, Adel Muhammad Sultan and Ahmed Jumaa Aqoub.

The committee is to submit the results of its work within a maximum of 14 days.
