On Friday, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, received a telephone conversation from his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias to discuss a number of regional files.

During the talks, the two top diplomats discussed the latest developments in Sudan, ahead of Monday’s EU and the discussion on the subject.

Dendias confirmed that Greece attaches particular importance to Egypt’s position on the developments in the region.

Notably, Shoukry kicked off on Saturday a two-day visit to the Omani capital, Muscat, where he will chair the Egyptian delegation participating in the 15th session of the joint Egyptian-Omani committee.

In a statement, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Hafez, said that Shoukry will meet, during the visit, a number of senior Omani officials to discuss aspects of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries in light of strong ties that unite them.
